Effective June 1 Passports to enter the USA became a requirement.  There is a temporary "leeway" that enables you to still cross over with a photo ID & Birth Certificate instead.  If you wish to cross and are unsure if this is still in effect, please contact the nearest USA border to inquire. Baudette USA: 1-218-634-2661; Warroad USA: 1-218-386-2796; International Falls USA: 1-218-283-2541.  Some States & Provinces have issued a "card" that is available instead of the Passport. See you soon!

Submitted by harrishill on Sun, 2009-05-31 14:41.

Fish are biting quite well in this "crappy" weather.  Think we will ever have spring- let alone summer?  They are still in the Bay in front of the lodge, but now Walleye are also on Snake Island reef now too.

Master Angler Northern Pike Fishing on Lake of the Woods Ontario

Submitted by harrishill on Wed, 2009-05-27 01:19.

Lots of Master Angler Northern Pike caught today.  30" - 41" monsters!  Fishing close by to the resort here on Lake of the Woods.  No digital camera, so we have to wait for them to get home, develop the film, and send us pics!  We'll see where they are tomorrow - the weather is warming up again.

Submitted by harrishill on Fri, 2009-05-15 14:12.

Check out the photo Gallery " Birds" on this website & see pics of some of the rarer Birds coming through this spring: Western Tanager (vagrant to this area), Red-Headed Woodpecker (endangered species), Indigo Bunting, Yellow-Headed Blackbirds & Red-Winged Blackbirds.  It's exciting to see these special bird species, especially the rare or vagrant species to Rainy River Ontario.  Even better when you can get a good picture!!!

New Docks & Harbour for boats for our fishermen.

Submitted by harrishill on Sun, 2009-04-05 17:14.

We just got a new harbour dredged here and re-dredged our existing harbour.  We will be making more boat slips in the new harbour too, so more places for fishermen to dock their boats when they come here to fish on Lake of the Woods.
