Duck & Goose Hunting Vacations

Duck & Goose Hunting is very popular in this area. Hunters do not have to go very far as there are usually abundant waterfowl in our bay right in front of the lodge. Their migratory routes pass right over Lake of the Woods in our area. There are also a variety of rice beds and neighbouring grain fields for waterfowl to feed in.

There are a quite a number of species of Ducks found here, with Blue Bills and Mallards probably being the favourites.

You will see a wide variety of ducks in the early season of September: Mallards, Teal and Wood Ducks. Following those are the Ring-necked Ducks, Bluebills, Black Ducks, Buffleheads, and Goldeneyes which follow usually in early October.

The geese found here are the Canada Goose and the Snow Goose. You will see them flying in a "V" shape.

There are many Canada Geese as well as Snow Geese to choose from, both on the water and in neighbouring grain fields.

Although Goose hunting generally starts a bit sooner, Duck hunting starts Sept 10th of each year.

Our House Keeping Package
is a 7 night stay.
This provides you with
a fully equipped house keeping cabin.
You can be directed to an area to hunt.
You will have your picture taken, which might later be seen on our web-site site and in our photo albums or advertising.

Our American Plan Meal Package
is a 7 night stay.
This package includes
your fully equipped house keeping cabin,
your meals (which one may be a bag lunch for those who wish to stay out),
advised of areas to hunt.
A digital picture can be taken for you that you can take back with you, or a picture mailed to you after professional developing.
These pictures may later be seen on our web-site and in our photo albums or advertising.

Our American Plan Package
is a 7 night stay.
This package includes
your fully equipped house keeping cabin,
your meals (which one may be a bag lunch for those who wish to stay out),
your boat and motor,
decoys
guide. Your guide does not stay with you all day. If a guide is requested to hunt with you, there would be an additional $125 a day charge.
You may also enjoy some fishing as part of your hunting holiday.
A digital picture can be taken for you that you can take back with you, or a picture mailed to you after professional developing.

Licenses are not generally included in the price of these hunting packages. The necessary Small Game license is $85 Canadian for non-residents, plus the required Duck Stamp for approx $18 Canadian.

Most hunters provide their own boats and decoys, however hunting packages such as our "American Plan Package" can be made to suit you.

A minimum 25% deposit is required to reserve your hunt.

We are keeping our duck hunting price almost the same as a "cabin rental" to let new customers experience and appreciate our natural resources here.
